Buena Vista, CO

Buena Vista (BV) is located between Denver and our home of Gunnison - it boasts all the beauty and outdoor access that Colorado mountain towns have to offer! Below are some of our recommendations:

MOUNTAIN BIKE

There are some great beginner / intermediate rides right in the town of Buena Vista. There are many good bike rental companies in BV, but please book in advance.

VISIT SALIDA

Salida is a wonderful little town South of Buena Vista. If you want a little more 'buzz' then this is a wonderful place to get lunch by the river!

HOT SPRINGS

Want to relax in a hot open-air pool fed by local spring water? Mt. Princeton hot springs is it a wonderful place to do so, and only a 2min drive away from DVR!

HIKE

The famously beautiful Colorado Trail runs right next to the ranch. Strap your hiking shoes on and go for an adventure!

COTTONWOOD PASS

Want to see one of the most beautiful mountain passes in Colorado? Just google "cottonwood pass" and begin your drive West from Buena Vista!

CLIMB

There’s tons of climbing around Buena Vista, and it’s turned into a favorite spot of our over the past few years. We are certainly going to climb Friday morning if anyone wants to join!

VISIT ST. ELMO

Looking for some amazing fall colors? Look no further than the ghost town of St. Elmo. This tiny town lights up in the few weeks of Fall and hosts many great hikes.

ARKANSAS RIVER

September is getting a bit late to raft, but the river is beautiful. It stretches North to South across the entire valley. You will need to get in a car to access it.
