Q&A
Is everyone staying at Deer Valley Ranch?
We wish! The venue has a capacity limit, so not everyone can sleep at Deer Valley Ranch. We are working to accommodate as many of you as possible, but there are just simply too many people we love for everyone to stay! Even if you are not staying on site, everyone is welcome to come spend time at the ranch!
Are children invited?
Long story short, yes! Your save the date and invitation should have made it clear if your children are invited, reach out if you are unsure.
What is the dress code for the wedding?
Cocktail - which basically means put on something snazzy that you wouldn’t necessarily wear in your everyday!
Masculine recommendations: a suit or nice pants (or kilt) with a button-down shirt (short sleeves ok if that’s your jam).
Feminine recommendations: dress or pant suit with sandals/boots/comfortable shoes.
The wedding is outdoors at a ranch, so comfortable shoes are highly recommended! High heels are fine if you’re comfy in them, but we expect stilettos to present some challenges.
Transportation?
We would recommend that you have a car for getting to Buena Vista from the airport and for general travel around the area.
Can I park my car at the venue?
Yes!
Is there anything specific I should pack?
Be ready for the Rocky Mountains in the fall! This basically means any type of weather imaginable from 80 degrees and sunny to snow showers!
Also, be prepared for the high elevation. Our venue sits at over 8,000 feet above sea level. That means you need to stay hydrated, pack sunscreen, spf lip balm, a reusable water bottle, & a hat. We recommend Nuun Hydration tablets or similar to help your body stay hydrated.
It’s a ranch, can we bring our dog?
Unfortunately this is a human-only event. There is a big invite list and we are trying to limit the chaos to at least some degree and ask that you leave your furry friends at home. If you live in a van with your dog and that is how you are getting to the event, drop us a line.
Why are you both obsessed with rocks?
This question begs the question, what do you mean by “rocks”? Because when you are dealing with the fundamental realities of the universe and you pose questions like this, you have to understand that the reality of the concepts of your question are just as questionable as what you’re questioning.
JK. What can we say, we like rocks. We like climbing them and hope you come climb some with us!
